15th Annual Courage to Speak Empowering Youth to be Drug-free Family Night The evening features students speaking about their drug prevention message from Ponus Ridge, West Rocks, Roton and Nathan Hale, Brookside Elementary, and Side by Side Charter School. A display of drug prevention posters and collages created by students during classes they’ve taken as part of the Courage to Speak® Drug Prevention Program. The evening also includes a presentation for parents and students by Ginger Katz, Founder and CEO of the Courage to Speak® Foundation. All communities are invited to attend! Family night attendees will include student speakers taking the microphone to read their vows not to use drugs. Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Dr. Damon Lewis, Principal of Ponus Ridge Middle School. Participants will include Norwalk’s Mayor Harry Rilling, Chief of Police Thomas Kulhawik, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Steven Adamowski, and Chief of Operations for Norwalk Public Schools Dr. Frank Costanzo, in addition to school principals, prevention and treatment professionals, teachers, parents, business and community leaders, representatives of state and local government, and members of Courage to Speak Foundation Board of Directors. “Bringing students and parents together to talk openly and honestly about the dangers of drugs is the most important goal of the Courage to Speak® Foundation, Empowering Youth to be Drug Free Family Night.
